Kandra to present ORCHID award to Rick Dees
Dr. Pearl Grimes, founder of The Coalition for At-Risk Urban Youth, announced today that Grammy award-winning singer Jody Watley and singer-actress sensation Nita Whitaker are set to perform at the dinner gala “Shall We Dance” benefit Friday, May 19 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Watley and Whitaker will join three celebrated Orchid award honorees who have been involved in causes for youth. They are film director Penny Marshall, radio personality Rick Dees, and internationally renowned brain surgeon Dr. Keith Black. The fundraiser is expected to bring out Hollywood notables and the medical establishment. Confirmed attendees include actress Kandra King who will be presenting the Award to Rick Dees, actress Cindy Williams who will be introducing Penny Marshall and television news anchor Dave Clark who will be presenting the decoration to Dr. Keith Black. Actress Lorraine Toussaint will emcee.
