Kandra
landed in California to attend California Lutheran University and immediately
pitched her tent. She graduated Cum Laude with a BS degree in Pre-Law at 19
years of age. After her first year of law school, Kandra realized that she
would rather play a lawyer on TV than become one and embarked on an acting
career. She has numerous film and television credits and has shared the screen
with many celebrities including Patrick
Dempsey, Adam Baldwin, Sandra
Oh and Academy Award winner Jon
Voight to name a few.
Simultaneously, she began to train hard as a singer and dancer in all facets, and was thrilled to perform Musical Theatre throughout Los Angeles. One of her finest roles was playing Betsy in Sweet Charity directed by Jon Engstrom who took home the Robby Award for his work on that show. She also got a “kick” out of performing in Anything Goes directed by Lewis Wilkenfeld and Camelot directed by Gary Romm, both of which received Critic's Choice Awards.
Kandra is delighted to be hosting a new TV series that will be launched in
2008 entitled: CHICK TRIPS (http://www.chicktripstv.com).
Kandra has been the host for several TV shows including Hidden Landmarks,
Ski Dazzle and Rock-A-Long with Bo Peep. As a singer/songwriter, Kandra has
written children's songs (available on Rugged Records) as well as pop, and
country tunes produced by Grammy & Dove award winning producer, Dino Maddalone.
Kandra stepped behind the cameras in 2007 to produce a unique DVD series for
children. She was originally brought on to write the script. She became so
entrenched in the concept, that she ended up composing and recording the theme
song, narrating, directing and producing the project. The first three of the
compilation entitled Little
Steps…Walk with Jesus (http://www.littlestepscollection.com/) follow two
twin girls throughout the Holy Land as they journey to all the areas Jesus
visited during his life from conception to the Ascension. The series will
be unveiled November 2007.
Kandra's love for children inspired her to get involved in several charity
organizations. She is on the board of directors for CARRY
(Coalition for At-Risk Youth). The foundation is dedicated to changing
the lives of foster youth suffering from debilitating skin disorders and physical
illnesses. She is also involved in Project Angel Tree which focuses on children
who's parents are in prison and Samaritan's purse, which brings joy and hope
to, kids in desperate situations around the world.
Kandra is a sports enthusiast. She is an active golfer (19 handicap) currently participating in the foremost Rancho Park Women's Golf Team, a dancer in all areas of the art and a certified scuba diver. She just received her green belt in Tae Kwon Do. She is the number one Chargers football fan. Kandra is happily married to her hero & best friend: Jack King
